You may have received a message stating “New employee surname and date of birth match existing member” or “NI number is present in another Payroll of this group.”
You've received this message for one of the following reasons:
- You have an employee restarting who had not been previously marked as a leaver. You have included an employee in the report under their new payroll number, and the system is marking them as a duplicate.
- You've included an employee who was previously marked as a leaver.
- You've included an individual with the same payroll reference number as another previous or current employee.
- You've amended/changed a payroll reference number for an employee without informing us.
You may also receive this error message if you have added a future start date: "Please amend the start date and retry the upload".
